LOCAL INFORMATION ON PIACENZA

Situated on the north-west border of Emilia-Romagna, Piacenza has always been a city of transit, thanks also to its key position between the Po river, Padana planes and the Apennine mountains. Rich with history, the city and its province offer numerous points of interest, be they cultural, natural, food or wine-related. Today Piacenza, which counts approximately 100.000 inhabitants, is an important logistic pole and for services. It distinguishes itself for its level of excellence in agricultural production and in the precision industry. For many years, Piacenza has boasted a notably high standard of living, due to the cultural and socio-economic levels of its inhabitants. Welcoming and liveable, this medium-sized town has also been the location of the Università Cattolica campus for 50 years where, today, over 3100 students study in its 5 academic departments.
