Facilities at UCSC Campus in Piacenza

ACCOMMODATION

The Campus of UCSC has a Hall of Residence that can be used by participants of GLOBALDIV Summer School.

A canteen is available for GLOBALDIV Summer School for lunch and dinner at reasonable price. There are also various restaurant and cafeteria services that can be used by participants.

UCSC has a small gymnasium with equipment, a multipurpose sports court and various indoor games.

Due to the limited capacity of the residence, some participants will be hosted in dormitories or hotels in town.

Candidates admitted to participate in the GLOBALDIV Summer School will receive information from GLOBALDIV Secretariat about possible accommodations. ALL bookings should be made through the GLOBALDIV Secretariat.

Please note that only the reservation will be a FREE SERVICE. All the board and lodging costs should be paid by students, except for those that have received a full board accommodation supported by GLOBALDIV.

TRANSPORT - HOW TO REACH PIACENZA:

• Motorway: A1 exit Piacenza North, South; A21 exit Piacenza East, West.
• Railway: FS Piacenza station.
• Roads: SS9, SS45, SS10 direction Piacenza.

The Università Cattolica campus is located just a few minutes by car from the historical centre of Piacenza. From the railway station the campus can be reached by taking either bus numbers 2 or 3 or 12.

INSURANCE

It is compulsory for participants to have medical insurance valid for Italy. Proof of insurance cover must be given at the beginning of the course. Those who so wish may participate in a collective insurance policy taken out by the GLOBALDIV, upon payment of the stipulated sum.

COMPUTER ROOM

During established hours students may freely access to a computer room and FREE WI-FI is available in UCSC campus.
